Can you please share the test and results, I'm curious to see the benchmark and the numbers. What were you comparing it against?

ROR enforces structure a lot better than PHP does, therefore you have much better consistency in the quality of code. Each language really has a place and time and there is no language that suits all purposes. While PHP offers better performance and a larger library of available code than rails does, it still gets dwarfed on performance by python. Django just went 1.1 release and it's a powerful framework.

The best move for any developer is to be comfortable in more than one language so informed decisions can be made going forward and that you are always using the right tool for the job.

People smart enough will realize there's very little that puts Ruby on Rails ahead.

PHP has the opportunity to overtake Rails with better performance and architecture.
